Region – Marlborough resident Debbie Beausoleil was honored by the United Way of Tri-County at an event held March 28 at the Sheraton Framingham as the MetroWest/495 Corridor Volunteer of the Year.
The breakfast gathering, titled “Be Bold,” was a way to honor the organization's many dedicated supporters and volunteers, according to a press release.
The “inspirational 85-year-old” Beausoleil was selected for the honor due to her “outstanding” work as a volunteer at the Marlborough Senior Center.
A number of other volunteers, companies and organizations were also acknowledged with awards at the event. Among those were the TJX Companies and FM Global who both received the Summit Award; Dr. Timothy Flanagan, the president of Framingham State University, who received the President's Award; and Gerry Gaw, the former superintendent of the Clinton Public Schools, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The special guest speaker was former Boston Bruins star Derek Sanderson, who was introduced by Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone.
