Plymouth – Cosmo D. “Gus” Fabrizio, 94, of Plymouth and formerly of Southborough, died Monday, March 25, 2013. He was the husband of the late Louise (Pessolano) Fabrizio, who passed away in 2008.
Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Nicoletti) Fabrizio.
Gus was a World War II Army veteran who survived “D Day” invasion of Normandy, and received three bronze stars and a purple heart. He served in the European Theater under General Patton.
After the war Gus returned to Cairo, New York and started his career as a truck driver delivering freight. He then worked for Acme Grocery Store as a manager before moving to Southborough in 1961. He worked in the catering business and soon had his own catering truck. In 1982, ?he retired from a job he loved.
Gus was an active member of St. Anne Church of Southborough before he moved? to Plymouth after his retirement. He enjoyed people and serving them the food? he created.? Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by a son, Michael Fabrizio and his wife Catherine of Cumberland, RI;? a sister, Mary Shippee of Ft. Peirce, FL; a brother, Joseph Fabrizio of Reading, CA; a grandson, Timothy Fabrizio and his wife Sarah of Fairfax, VT; and a great-grandson, Andrew.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday morning, April 4, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Church, 20 Boston Rd., Southborough. Burial will be in Southborough Rural Cemetery.
