Northborough – The defending Central Massachusetts baseball champions and state finalist Algonquin Regional High School Tomahawks hosted the Shepherd Hill Regional High School Rams for its home opener April 5 in Northborough. The Tomahawks scored one run in the second, but it wasn’t until the bottom of the fourth that they then blew it open with a grand slam by Jack Henningson who drove the ball over the center field fence at the 390 foot mark.
The Rams started to nibble away at Algonquin's lead and exploded for five runs in the top of the seventh. ?Tomahawks’ starter Luke Serra first yielded to Ryan Moynihan and then Mike Stamas who got the save to give Algonquin the 8-7 victory.
