School: Shrewsbury High School sophomores (The Quinlivans are twins.)

    Sport: Hockey

    Coach: Steve Turnblom

When did you two first start playing hockey?

“I started playing hockey when I was 5 years old. My earliest memory is winning the Shrewsbury mite league championship” – Jack

“I started playing hockey when I was 5. I remember playing on the mite team with several of my current high school teammates, and we won the championship” – Dan

Which coach or parent encouraged you to better your game?

“Coach Art Ward really encouraged me to better my game because he made me work hard every time I stepped on the ice.” – Jack

“Both my parents did a lot for me throughout the years. They were always willing to drive us to clinics, or wherever the games were around New England.” – Dan

How do you feel you and your brother complement each other on the ice?

“Dan and I have different styles. He works hard to get the puck in the corners, and is a great passer, while I look for open spaces, and opportunities to score. Our different talents complement each other.” – Jack

“Our chemistry helps us on the ice. We always know where each other is going, and it sets up scoring opportunities.” – Dan

What's it like playing for Shrewsbury High?

“I love playing for SHS. Playing in front of our fans is the best, and I love representing both our school and town.” – Jack

“I take pride in representing SHS, and I love playing in front of the best fans in Central Mass.” – Dan

Which current coach has helped you the most, and how so?

“All of our coaches have impacted different parts of my game, so they all have helped equally.” – Jack

“Assistant Coach Nate Lavner has really helped make me a better player. He always pushes me to work harder, and seeing some of the things he can do on the ice makes me want to be a better player” – Dan

Which game has been the most special up to this point of your hockey career?

“The most special game was when we beat Hudson this past year. I scored on a last second shot to win.” – Jack

“Our shootout win against Algonquin was the most special. It was my first playoff victory, and the support we got from our fans that game made it even more meaningful.” – Dan

What would you like to accomplish during the remainder of your time at SHS?

“I's like to win a district championship, and then go on to win the state championship.” – Jack

“My ultimate goal is to win back to back state championships.” – Dan

What is your favorite class in school and why?

“My favorite class is History, because I like to learn about the past.” – Jack

“History is my favorite class, because I love learning about past leaders.” – Dan

Who is your favorite NHL team and player?

“My favorite team is the Bruins, but my favorite player is Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks” – Jack

“I's a huge Bruins fan, but my favorite player is Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals, because of his skill, and physical play.” – Dan
