Shrewsbury – The St. John's High School Pioneers hosted its cross-town rival Shrewsbury High School Colonials for a baseball game May 4 in Shrewsbury.

After the Colonials failed to score in their part of the first inning the Pioneers roughed up Colonials’ starter Spencer Resnick for five runs in the bottom of the first inning but Resnick settled down after that for several innings. ?In the top of the fourth, the Colonials got on the board courtesy of an RBI from Jeff Svendsen that scored Mike Coggeshall. In the bottom of the fourth inning the Pioneers responded with a three-run home run by Jake Byrne. ?Each team added two runs in the sixth inning.

St. John's won by a score of 10-3 after Jacques Boilard came on for the save.
