Obit Betty SchneiderShrewsbury – Betty Jolyne (Lewellyn) Schneider, of Shrewsbury, died peacefully at home Thursday, June 6, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was 80 years old.

She was born in Flint, Michigan and graduated from Flint Central High School in 1950. She then married her high school sweetheart, Bill (William), in 1950. Bill passed away in 1974 when they were living in Clifton Park, New York.

Betty lived in many states and loved to travel. She was extremely creative and loved oil painting, sewing, cooking, golfing, boating, skiing, and decorating. She was founder and first president of the Country Knolls Women's Club in Clifton Park, New York.

She was a real estate Administrative Assistant for many years in Massachusetts where she moved to be near her daughters.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Cindy Lees and her husband, Albert, of Westport Point and Wendy McHugh of Southborough; five grandchildren, Kelly Mahoney and her husband, Joe, of N. Kingstown, RI, Emily McHugh of Attleboro, Grant Woodward of Auburn, Matthew and Samantha McHugh of Southborough; and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Grady Mahoney. She also leaves her brother, John Lewellyn and his wife, Linda, of Michigan; her sister, Mary Ann Lewellyn of Oregon; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint, Michigan. There are no calling hours.
