Westborough – The Westborough Fourth of July Planning Committee will hold its annual Family Block Party Friday, June 28, from 6-10 p.m. on W. Main Street from the rotary to Church Street. The event will feature music by the local band, “The Reminisants,” and the Westborough Community Band. Children's events feature a moon bounce, dunk tank, photo booth, face painting, air brush tattoos, hayrides, pony rides, and Big Daddy race cars. Food concessions include pizza, ice cream, steak tips, hamburgers, hot dogs, cotton candy and fried dough.
At Bay State Commons, there will be hot air balloon rides, a roaming railroad and entertainment by the Milk Street Station Band.
This year's major sponsors include Roche Bros., Outback Steakhouse, the Westborough Athletic and Social Association, Carruth Capital, Dolan & Maloney Insurance Agency, BJ's Wholesale Club and Mackintire Insurance Agency.
Shrewsbury- On Thursday, July 4, the annual Fourth of July Celebration will be held at Dean Park, 785 Main St., from 12 – 4 p.m., featuring a cookout, live music, and inflatable amusements. A decorated bike and doll carriage parade will begin at 12:30 p.m.
In addition, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, July 1, 3, and 5, Dean Park will host a tribute to the Armed Forces. At 9 p.m. each night, the park's fountains will dance with colored lights to patriotic music. Music to accompany the fountains can be heard on 91.7 FM on car or portable radios.
Hudson – The Hudson Elks will host a daily carnival July 3-7 with fireworks Friday and Saturday nights, July 5 and 6, at the Hudson Elks Pavilion, 99 Park St.
Southborough – On Tuesday, July 2, at 11 a.m., the Friends of the Southborough Library will hold a Fourth of July children's parade from the library, 25 Main St., to the Town Hall, 17 Common St. Flags, noisemakers and hats will be provided. Refreshments will be served following the parade.
Northborough – The Northborough Free Library, 34 Main St., will hold a Fourth of July craft event, Wednesday, July 3, all day from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
