Hudson – Jose B. Andrade, 75, of Hudson, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at UMass Memorial Healthcare, University Campus in Worcester, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Adelina (Chaves) Andrade of Hudson.
Jose was born and raised in Santa Maria, the Azores of Portugal, son of the late Francisco and Maria (Braga) Soares. He has resided in Hudson since 1971 after moving from Santa Maria.
He was employed as a machinist for many years by Drakes Machine Co. in Franklin until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Jose enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and will be missed by them all.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Delia Dionne and her husband Michael of Hudson, Lucy Andrade of Hudson, Frank Andrade of Hudson, Joseph Andrade and his wife Brenda of Malden, and Tony Andrade and his wife Karen of Hudson. He was predeceased by his son, Antonio Andrade in 1972. He is also survived by his brother, David Andrade of St. Paul, Brazil; his four loving grandchildren, John and Tiffany Dionne, Jake and Rose Andrade; and his many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 19, at 9:00 a.m., in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours Thursday, July 18, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson.
