Marlborough – Lois E. (Battles) Roy, 94, died early Saturday morning, Aug. 3, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Bertrand Roy, who died in 2011. She was born in Medford, the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Hopkins) Nelson, and lived in Marlborough for almost 10 years.

Mrs. Roy was a graduate of Saint Clements High School in Somerville and the Harvard Extension Business School. She worked for the Arlington public school system for over 30 years, retiring at 72 years old. She was a longtime member of the Red Hot Squares and was an avid gardener.

She is survived by two sons, John Roy and his wife Alice of Nahant and Michael Roy and his wife Yvonne of Brewster; one daughter, Kathleen Andreoli and her husband Richard of Marlborough; five grandchildren, Eric, Matthew and Beth Andreoli, and Colin and Alec Roy; and two great-grandchildren, Aviendha and Madic Andreoli.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 10:30 a.m., in Saint Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St Luke's Cemetery Westborough. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Rand Harper Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
