Hudson – Hudson Junior Girl Scout Troop 72739 recently earned their Bronze Award, the highest award achievable by Junior Girl Scouts.
To earn the award, the girls each completed at least 20 hours of service to refurbish the gardens and park structures at Tripps Pond, located on Green Street. The girls weeded the garden beds, planted additional perennials, trimmed trees, raked lawns and picked up trash. They also sanded and stained all the picnic tables, as well as several wooden park benches.
“The girls also worked with representatives from Lowe's in Hudson, as well as the Hudson Recreation Department, for assistance with securing materials for the project,” Cathi Carlino, of the troop's leaders, noted. “It was a great learning experience for all involved.”
The Scouts who earned the award are: Rebecca Anacheka-Nasemann, Kelsey Kahn, Maddie Hay, Catie Pollard, Rachel Bryan, Molly Flanagan, Casey Carlino, Mackenzie Hay, Alexandra McDonald, ?Catie Pollard, Casey Carlino, Alexandra McDonald, Maddie Hay, Mackenzie Hay, ??Rebecca Anacheka-Nasemann, Kelsey Kahn, Rachel Bryan, and Molly Flanagan.
