Obit Alfred J. Bouvier Jr.Marlborough – Alfred J. Bouvier Jr., 75, of Marlborough, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at Marlborough Hills HealthCare Center after a lengthy illness.

Born and raised in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Alfred J. Bouvier Sr. and Anita J. (Boisvert) Bouvier. He was the husband of Margaret (Cornish) Downing Bouvier, of Hudson, with whom he shared the past 33 years.

Alfred was educated at the former St. Anthony's School and St. Vitus Academy, Marlborough, graduating from Marlborough High School in 1957. He enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard, while continuing his education at New England School of Pharmacy. He then joined the family business, Bouvier Pharmacy, and managed the Lincoln Street establishment, retiring in 1992.

He served on the Board of Directors at St. Mary's Credit Union for many years, was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and had been a choir member and actively involved in the parish community at the former St. Mary's Parish. Following his retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively and enjoyed time with their family on Cape Cod.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, David Bouvier and his wife Ann of Marlborough, Christopher Bouvier and Yvette Hagerman and her husband Gwynn, all of St. Petersburg, FL, John Downing Jr. and his wife Tania of Michigan, Roger Downing and his wife Kathi Jean of Hudson, and Sue Downing and her partner Kathy Proman of Venice, FL; his brothers, Noel Bouvier of Hyannis, James Bouvier and his wife Roberta, Philippe Bouvier and his wife Eleanor, and Thomas Bouvier, all of Marlborough; 17 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also the brother-in-law of the late Elaine (Evangelous) Bouvier.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, Sept. 13, from 4 – 7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 14, at 9:00 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough.

Burial will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Beach Street in Marlborough.
