N applefestlogoNorthborough – After a hiatus of several years, the popular event, A Taste of Northborough, is returning to the town's Applefest celebration.

The event, sponsored by the Algonquin Regional High School (ARHS) Boosters Club will be held in the school's cafeteria Sunday, Sept. 22, from 2-4 p.m. Local restaurants, stores and farm stands will be offering guests the opportunity to try out some of their fare.

The final details are still being worked on but all indications are that it will be a well-represented event, according to Committee Chair Rob Berger.

“So far we have CocoBeni Confections, Tougas Farm, Lowe's Variety & Meat Market, Davidian Brothers Farm, Qdoba, Yoong Tong Thai Restaurant, Kennedy's Pub, and Pizzeria Uno, to name just a few,” he said.

The event will serve as a fundraiser, he noted, for the Boosters Club, particularly in support of the athletic department's concussion prevention program.

“The school has a great athletic department and we want to support the athletic director and department in any way that we can,” he said.

Tickets for A Taste of Northborough are $15 per person and $50 for a family of four. The tickets will be sold in advance by members of the Booster Club and during the Saturday Applefest events, as well as at the door.

The Booster's Club will also be holding a car wash Saturday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the back of the school. The cost is $10 per car.

ARHS is located at 79 Bartlett St., Northborough.

This year's Applefest celebration will be held Friday, Sept. 20, through Sunday, Sept. 22. For details on specific events visit www.northboroughapplefest.com or communityadvocate.com.
