Early literacy workshop at Hudson Library

Hudson – The Hudson Public Library, 3 Washington St., will hold a workshop, titled “Help Me Get Ready to Read,” for parents, grandparents, daycare providers, and early childhood professionals Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 6:30 p.m.

This early literacy workshop will be presented by Susan Marx, B.S.Ed., M.A. and Barbara Kasok, B.S.Ed.?Participants will learn reading strategies to introduce early literacy concepts and skills; suggestions for good books to read aloud to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers; criteria for choosing good children's picture books; research on the importance of early literacy concepts and skills; and parenting strategies to foster children's feelings of competence and confidence.?PDP certificates for preschool staff and childcare providers will be provided.
