Obit Kathleen BousquetWorcester – Kathleen M. “Kathy” (Shannon) Bousquet, of Worcester, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013 at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was 65.

Kathy was born in Shrewsbury, a daughter of the late James “Skippy” Shannon. She graduated Shrewsbury High School with the class of 1965, and on May 5, 1966 in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, she married her childhood sweetheart, Ronald Bousquet. Her professional career began as a staff accountant for Stephen W. Heald CPA and later with Carlin, Charon & Rosen.

She loved life and the people in it, but time spent with her family is what she treasured most. She faithfully attended everyone's sporting events, loved vacations or trips to Maine, time on Newbury Beach with her daughter, or at Lake Winnipesaukee with her son on the boat or motorcycling.

In addition to her husband of 47 years, Ronald, she leaves her children, Keith and his loving companion Crystal Miller of Worcester and Stacey Holmes and her husband Eric of Ellsworth, Maine. Kathy was the world's best “MeMe” to her five grandchildren, Kody, Cooper and Camden Holmes of Maine and Sean and Seth Miller of Worcester. Kathy leaves her close cousin and dear friend, Maureen Brooks of Webster; her close friend, Candi Seibold of Worcester, who was like a second daughter; her mother, Dolly Shannon of Shrewsbury; her in-laws, Raymond and Marge Bousquet of Worcester, Steven and Karen Saucier, Richard and Lucy Bousquet, and Brian and Sheila Caney; her close friends, Brian and Paula Pashoian, Joseph and Patricia George, Larry and Linda Garney, Ronald and Donna Alexandrovich, Bob and Linda Mellor, and Gene and the late Nancy Felecetti; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

Kathy's death leaves a void in our lives, but her affectionate smile, infectious laughter and love is what sustains us and reminds us that love wins. We will miss you, Kathy.

Her funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 15 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church of Worcester, with burial in Notre Dame Cemetery. Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House assisted with arrangements.

To honor Kathy's memory, donations can be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 2600 Network Blvd, Ste. 300, Frisco, TX 75034 (www.nationalbreastcancer.org).
