Obit Thelma SchuckPlymouth – Thelma May (Leary) Schuck, 93 of Plymouth, a former longtime resident of Hudson, died Monday Nov. 4, 2013 in Plymouth, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to the late Augustus F. “Jim” Schuck.

Thelma was born in Clinton, daughter of the late Warren W. Leary Sr. and Florence “Hatch” Leary. She was raised in Hudson, where she attended local schools. Her family relocated to the Berkshires, where she graduated from Lee High School 1938.

Thelma spent several memorable years residing in the Berkshires in her late teens and early 20s and there she met her husband, Augustus “Jim.” They married and she always shared her fond memories of the Berkshires with her family. She and her husband returned to Hudson and raised their children on Brook Street, where they resided for over 50 years.

She was employed by the Raytheon Company for over 20 years as a cost analyst in the Wayland and Sudbury facilities, and was also a member of the Secretaries Club until her retirement in 1979. She was Baptized in the Methodist Church in Hudson, where she enjoyed the “Sewing Group” and “Couples Club,” and was also a member of the “Rebecca's Women's Association.”

After leaving Hudson, she has lived in Clinton, Lancaster, and Plymouth to be close with her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and antiquing in her spare time. She always looked forward to traveling, especially vacationing with family and friends.

Thelma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and loyal friend to many. She will be truly missed by all.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn “Bonnie” Clark of Clinton and Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Vital of Plymouth. She also survived by her brother, Warren Leary of Alton Bay, N.H.; her four grandchildren, Kimberly Clark of Hudson, Gaige Clark of California, Barry Vital of Boston, and Brad Vital of Maryland; her five great-grandchildren, Raychel, Nycole, Samantha, Hailey, and Chance; her great-great-grandson, Ashton; and two nephews, Warren and Kevin.

A funeral service and celebration of Thelma's life will be held Monday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m., at Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery of Hudson. Family and friends may attend the calling hours Sunday, Nov. 10, from 3 – 5 p.m., at the funeral home.
