West Yarmouth – Mildred “Millie” (Delaney) Sandini, 94, died late Sunday night, Feb. 9, 2014 after a short period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Guido Sandini, who died in 1988.

She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Mary Delaney, and lived in Marlborough most of her life before moving to West Yarmouth a few years ago, to be closer to her daughter.

Mrs. Sandini always took care of others from the time she was a child. She was a care giver that always gave to her church, community, and, most importantly, her family. She worked for many years as the matron at the former Lyman School in Westborough. It was there that she developed the love of taking care of people that needed her help. She was also a longtime member of the former St. Ann's Church in Marlborough.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Dumas of West Yarmouth; one brother, Francis O’Donnell; one sister, Mary Seymour; a granddaughter, Yvette Orell; a great-grandson, Brian Orell; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 14, at 11:00 a.m., in Saint Matthias Church, Hemenway Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough. Funeral arrangements under the direction of the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home of Marlborough (www.shortfuneral.com).
