Obit James DurandMarlborough – James A. “Jim” Durand, 84, of Marlborough died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 at UMass Medical Center, Worcester. A lifelong Marlborough resident, Mr. Durand was the son of the late Emilian and Blanche (Sasseville) Durand and the husband of the late Jean (Powell) Durand, who died in 2005.

He had been employed for many years at the General Motors manufacturing plant in Framingham. He had previously worked for Marlborough Wire Goods.

He was a supporter of the New England Patriots and the Red Sox, was proficient completing jig saw puzzles, and enjoyed many bus trips to Foxwoods.

He is survived by his daughters, Amy Livingston and her husband, Tim, of Sterling and Karen Corleto and her husband, Thomas, of Marlborough; his grandchildren, Timothy Livingston and Candace Livingston; and his great-granddaughter, Faith Livingston.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, Feb. 3, from 9 – 10 a.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beach Street, Marlborough.
