Marlborough – Carol (Jaarsma) Wilson, 69, died Sunday evening, March 2, 2014 after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Francis Wilson, who died in 2003. They were married for 34 years.
She was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Joseph and Sadie (Douma) Jaarsma, and lived in the city her entire life.
In her younger years, Mrs. Wilson worked as a legal secretary for a few different lawyers in the area. After the birth of her daughter she stayed home to raise her child.? She, along with her husband, were longtime members of the First Congregational Church of Hopkinton, currently the Faith Community Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Laura Wilson of Shrewsbury; one brother, Charles Jaarsma and his wife Ellen of Maine; and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, March 6, at 10:00 a.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home, 95 West Main St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Wednesday, March 5, from 4 – 7 p.m.
