Marlborough – There are many struggling families and individuals in the area who need assistance to allow them to remain in their home or apartment, to find low-income housing, or merely to survive the daily challenges of life. They may be facing the loss of a job, an illness or sometimes a combination of both. But many who have found themselves in such a vulnerable position are able to receive assistance by stopping in at the Marlborough office of Danillo “Dan” Sena, the new District Director for State Sen. Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton).

Sena helps the residents with their specific needs – housing, unemployment benefits, food and cash assistance – by acting as a liaison on their behalf and working with state agencies to resolve their casework.

Each Friday he is at the senator's district office located in the Walker Building, 255 Main St., where he meets with residents and attends to other constituent services and human-service-related issues.? In his office at the Statehouse in Boston, Sena handles Eldridge's scheduling, along with other related duties.

“Sen. ?Eldridge receives many requests to attend a variety of events and meetings, not only in the Statehouse, but also across the district,” Sena said.

Sena was born in Timbauba, Brazil and moved to Acton when he was 14 years old. He said watching the growing disparity between the rich and the poor in Brazil motivated him to pursue a vocation in public service.

“I am very proud to have Danillo join my staff as my District Director,” said Senator Eldridge in a press release.? “Dan's commitment to public service, work ethic, and personal skills will help us serve the people of the Middlesex and Worcester district to the highest degree.? In addition, as a Brazilian-American immigrant, I will be relying upon Dan to serve as a liaison to the different immigrant communities in the Senate district I represent.”

Sena is a graduate of Acton-Boxborough Regional High School, Middlesex Community College and the University of Mass., Amherst. He has also worked as an interpreter at the MetroWest Free Medical Program at Temple Bet El in Sudbury.

To contact Sena email [email protected], or call 617-722-1120 at the Statehouse.
