Obit Charles MartinMarlborough – Charles W. “Billy” Martin, 65, of Marlborough and formerly of Everett, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester. He was the husband of Linda S. (Olson) Martin for the past 46-? years.

He was born and raised in Boston, the son of the late Harry and Anne (Burroughs) Martin, and was a graduate of Jamaica Plains High School, class of 1967. He was the night manager in Distribution at Sears Roebuck in South Boston for 25 years before its closing. He later went on to work in several area schools and churches in custodial care, and was sexton at Sudbury United Methodist Church.

Charles was a member of the Greater Grace Christian Fellowship, and served as a Deacon. He was devoted to his family and his church, and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible.

Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, William C. Martin of Ashland and Michael H. Martin of Hudson; a daughter, Lorrie Sampson of Holden; three brothers, Edward, Kevin, and Richard Martin, all of Manchester, N.H.; a sister, Jean West of Marlborough; five grandchildren, Justin, Ethan, Aidan, Julia, and Jonas; and many nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 23, at 11 a.m., in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 22, from 5 – 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
