Westborough – Ruth P. Storey, 78, of Westborough, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 4, 2014 at home.
Born in Westborough, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Nannie (Carlson) Brown. She was educated in Westborough schools and was a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College and Westborough State Hospital School of Nursing.
Ruth was employed as a registered nurse at the Cushing Hospital in Framingham for 26 years prior to her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Westborough Community Chorus, a member of the Marlborough Moose Chapter 657, and enjoyed traveling.
Ruth is survived by one son, George I. Storey of Westborough; one daughter, Diane L. Kratschman of Brooksville, Fla.; one brother, Paul Brown of Montana; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Nancy Hatch and sister of the late Carl Brown and his wife, Jenny, and Elsie Roy.
A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, May 9, at 1:30 p.m., in Pine Grove Cemetery, South Street, Westborough. Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Thursday, May 8, from 4 – 7 p.m.
