Shrewsbury??”Locally-owned and family-owned, Al's Oil has been supplying homeowners and commercial customers with fuel oil and personal service for over 50 years.

“We are a company that cares about our customers,” said Peter Ferraro, general manager of Al's Oil, which is part of the Flynn company and is located in the Flynn Plaza on Route 20.

“We offer a variety of oil delivery options and payment plans and will work with all of our customers to tailor those plans to their needs. When customers call us, they will get off the phone knowing that we care, and we follow up quickly if there are any problems,” he said.

Al's is one of the largest independent residential heating companies in New England, and serves customers within about a 30-mile radius of its Shrewsbury headquarters.

“We offer the lowest prices for full service oil delivery, and are proud of the quality of our fuels and the service we provide,” Ferraro said. “We aggressively search the market for the best prices, but we don's sacrifice the quality of the fuel we buy.

“We have our own fleet of oil trucks, and operate our own equipment with our own drivers,” he added, noting that the drivers get to know their customers.

Oil delivery options include a program where customers keep an eye on their tank and call for a delivery or an automatic, computerized delivery schedule based on Al's estimate of usage and weather conditions. Payment options include spreading heating costs out over a 10-month period, payment for each delivery, and a prepaid, fixed-price plan.? The company offers a discount on bills paid within 10 days and offers senior citizen discounts.

In addition to delivering fuel oil, Al's installs heating and cooling systems. The company has long installed oil-fired heating systems and can now provide natural gas systems as well as air-conditioning systems, handling such brands as Buderus, Peerless, and Mitsubishi ductless air-conditioning equipment.

Al's technicians also service existing heating and cooling systems, with 24-hour-a-day emergency service available.

“The best investment homeowners can make is to regularly service their heating systems,” said David Lambert, the company's service manager. A buildup of soot in a boiler system can make it inefficient, requiring more fuel to heat the water. As a boiler cools off during the summer, the soot can react with the humidity in the air to produce sulfuric acid and lead to corrosion.

Al's commercial sales division, Flynn's Petroleum LLC, supplies both heating oil and diesel fuel for fleets.

“We can deliver fuels to all sizes of tanks, from 500 gallons up to as large as 20,000 gallons,” he said.

When supplying diesel fuel, the company offers both on-road and off-road options, including direct fueling for vehicle fleets and fueling construction equipment at remote job sites.

Al's Oil is located at 307 Hartford Turnpike (Route 20) in Shrewsbury, in the Flynn's Plaza building. For additional information on oil delivery plans, pricing, installation and service, call 508-753-7221 or check the company's website, www.alsoil.com.
