cartoon 6.6. rsRegion – John Henry, owner of the Red Sox and the Boston Globe, is safe…he recently sold the Worcester Telegram for a reported $18+ million.

Those who are out however, are the 28 Telegram editorial employees who lost their jobs June 2.? Safe for now are the remaining 150+ staffers who still await their fate.

In the absence of a local buyer, Henry opted to sell the Worcester-landmark to Florida-based Halifax Media Group. Only time will tell whether the Telegram's newest owners have the cash and the passion to turn around the beleaguered Worcester daily.
