Westborough Education Foundation celebrates remarkable educators

Westborough – The Westborough Education Foundation (WEF) is offering residents a way to show appreciation for local teachers, principals, and staff members and support the WEF's mission to help enrich the curriculum and stimulate creative learning opportunities in all of the Westborough public schools.

As part of the CARE (Care and Appreciate Remarkable Educators) program, individuals, groups or classes can make a tax-deductible donation to the WEF in appreciation of these wonderful teachers as a meaningful year-end gift. The chosen honoree will receive notification acknowledging the gift and a notification of receipt will be sent to each contributor for tax purposes.

“We are so appreciative of the Westborough Education Foundation, noted Maryann Stannard, principal of Fales Elementary School. “I have felt very honored when families have made a donation to the CARE program in my name because the CARE Program supports the wonderful WEF Grant Program that has provided so many exciting and enriching learning experiences for the students of Westborough.”

The WEF's primary goal is to raise funds to provide innovative educational programs for Westborough students that are outside the realm of the normal school system budget. Teachers from throughout the school system are eligible to participate in the grant program, and the benefits of these grants reach children of all grade levels.

“The generosity of the WEF has certainly assisted in supporting many outstanding and innovative programs and projects in the district,” said Superintendent Marianne O”Connor.

This year, WEF awarded $19,255 to extraordinary teachers, who work above and beyond to enhance the educational experiences of children within the Westborough Schools.
