St. John's graduate earns U.S. Naval Academy degree

Region – Navy Ensign Thomas D. Krysil, son of Cara Krysil of Leominster, recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and was commissioned to his current rank.

Graduation and commissioning is the culmination of a rigorous four-year program of intense academic, military and physical training designed to produce combat leaders of character for the Navy and Marine Corps. In the Naval Academy's Class of 2014, 1068 midshipmen graduated of which 784 sailors were commissioned as Navy ensigns and 265 Marines were commissioned as Marine Corps 2nd lieutenants.

Krysil is a 2010 graduate of St. John's High School in Shrewsbury.
