Obit Ulf StoeckelmannNorthborough – Ulf Stoeckelmann died Sunday, June 29, 2014, with his family by his side, at his home in Northborough after a courageous nine-month battle with cancer. He was 70.

Affectionately known to others as “Stock'” he was born in Bielefeld, Germany. He came with his family to the United States at the age of 6, settling in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he was raised and educated and lived for 19 years. A year ago, he was able to visit his much-loved hometown that he had so many memories. A proud alumnus of Indiana University, class of 1969, Stock was also a proud veteran having served his country in the Korean Conflict.

After his service and meeting his true love, Tari, in Fort Wayne, they moved to California and spent 10 years in San Mateo before settling in Northborough 27 years ago.

Stock worked in the high tech industry spending 25 years at Digital Equipment Corporation, as well as with Hewlett-Packard before his retirement in 2012.

Stock enjoyed the simple things in life: his home in Northborough and tending to his gardens and skiing in the winter at many New England mountains. He had a passion for all types of music and enjoyed going to concerts with friends and family, and dancing around the living room with his grandkids. But, what defined Stock is his love for his family, from the very beginning to the very end, he simply loved being with them. He was fun, loving, supportive and a constant presence in their lives. He will be especially missed by his grandchildren whom they called “Opa” and who enjoyed spending so many great times together.

He leaves his wife of 46 years, Tari Stoeckelmann; his daughters, Tanya Marderosian and her husband Ken of Shrewsbury and Kara Stoeckelmann of Northborough; his five grandchildren, Cole, Alec, Kira, Lucy, and Anna Marderosian; his brother, George Stoeckelmann of Colorado; and a sister, Hilka Burfine and her husband Ed of Half Moon Bay, Ca.

Family and friends will honor and remember Stock's life by gathering for calling hours Monday, July 7, from 4- 7 p.m., at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center, followed by a celebration of his life at 7 p.m.. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, honor Stock's memory with a donation to the Dana Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Institute at Milford Regional Medical Center, 20 Prospect St., Milford, MA 01757.
