Shrewsbury – Families gathered July 1 for the annual Summer Reading Kickoff Carnival at the Shrewsbury Public Library. Festivities included carnival games, snacks, a magic and juggling show with Flippo the Clown and a belly dance performance by the Silver Moon Gypsies.

Among several authors featured at a meet and greet were N.E. Castle and April Jones Prince, each of Shrewsbury. The carnival concluded with a screening of the film “Frozen.”
