Northborough – Devereux, a nonprofit agency providing education and treatment for children and adults with severe emotional and behavioral disorders, presented its 2014 Commitment to Caring Award to Debra Remillard of Northborough during the recent Annual Meeting of the Advisory Board in Worcester. The Commitment to Caring Award was inaugurated in 1990 and is presented annually to an individual from the community who has demonstrated dedication to Devereux's mission of improving the quality of life for children.

Remillard was chosen for her extraordinary dedication to supporting the efforts of nonprofit organizations and educational institutions in central Massachusetts.

At Devereux, she was a member of the Advisory Board for six years where she provided thoughtful ideas, suggestions, counsel and keen insights on forging a strong future.

Remillard and her family are among Devereux's largest individual benefactors over the past decade, supporting important program initiatives and general operations. Her strong support, her example and advocacy have served to give others in the community confidence in Devereux's mission and a willingness to lend their assistance as well.

“She has made a difference for Devereux – she has helped in many ways to bring hope and brighter horizons to many young lives. She has done all this quietly, humbly and always with a touch of class,” said Stephen H. Yerdon, Devereux executive director.

Remillard is a prominent member of the community and has served in many philanthropic roles. She continues to lend her time and talents as a volunteer for Devereux and is instrumental in helping to plan and organize the annual fundraising gala and auction event.
