Obit Dolores TavanoMarlborough – Dolores (Fogarty) Morris Tavano, 88, of Marlborough, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014. She was born in Cambridge, the daughter of the late George Fogarty Sr. and Josephine (Doucette) Fogarty. She was the wife of the late James J. Morris Jr., who died in 1967, and the late Nicholas Tavano, who died in 2007.

She graduated from St. Mary's High School, Cambridge, and began working as a secretary for Catholic Charities after graduating from secretarial school in Boston. She later worked as a secretary at Assabet Valley High School. She retired in 1991 from the Raytheon Corporation, where she was an assistant to the Purchasing Director.

Mrs. Tavano enjoyed knitting and crocheting, as well as traveling. She looked forward to her many trips to Maine and gatherings with her large family.

She is survived by her sons, Dr. Peter Morris and his wife Amber of Marlborough and Robert Morris and his wife Kim of Shrewsbury; her daughter, Diane McCurley and her husband Timothy of Marlborough; her daughter-in-law, Susan Morris of Northborough; her son-in-law, Charles St. Pierre of Orange; her step-daughter; Nicole Hayes and her husband Matthew of Medway; her brother, George Fogarty Jr. and his wife Gayvon of Vermont; her grandchildren, Laura St. Pierre, Erin Tagliaferri, Christopher Morris, Andrew Morris, Jessica Welch, and Nicholas McCurley; and her great-grandchildren, Amelia and Chloe Ritt, Julie Tagilaferri, and Bayla Morris. She was also the mother of the late Stephen “Moose” Morris, who died June 29, 2013, and Susan St. Pierre, who died July 7, 2014.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, July 28, from 5-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 29, at 10 a.m., at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough.
