Shrewsbury – Georgette L. (Leroux) Ledoux, 97, of Shrewsbury, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband, Aime R. Ledoux, died in 2002.
She leaves her children, Ronald M. Ledoux and his wife Kathleen of Northborough, Richard R. Ledoux and his wife Rose of Milltown, N.J., Denise M. Shailer and her husband Neil of Shrewsbury, Philip J. Ledoux and his wife Katherine of Stillwater, Mn., and Robert J. Ledoux and his wife Theresa of Harvard; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 11 siblings, Adrien, Louise, Rose, Jeanne, Arthur, Romeo, George, Rachel, Roger, Alexander, and Pauline.
Georgette was born in Barton, Vermont, daughter of the late Emile and Eldea (Menard) Leroux. She graduated from Barton Academy in 1935, and married Mr. Aime Ledoux in 1941. Together they raised their family in Shrewsbury, where they lived for 65 years.
She was a member of Saint Anne's Parish in Shrewsbury. She worked as a baker for the Shrewsbury School Department for over 10 years.
Georgette's ultimate joy was being surrounded by her family. Her hobbies included bowling, playing cards, bingo with her friends, baking, traveling, gardening, and collecting antiques.
The Ledoux family wishes to thank the staff of the Shrewsbury Nursing Home for the compassion and love shown to their mother while in their care.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours Friday, Aug. 1, from 5-7 p.m., at the Britton- Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 2, 10 a.m., at Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery of Shrewsbury.
