Marlborough – Rose E. (Emond) Juneau, 96, entered into eternal rest Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, joining her husband of 44 years, the late Raymond H. Juneau.

She was born in North Hampton, the daughter of the late Lewis and Anna (Kasparovitch) Emond, and lived in Marlborough over 40 years before moving to California eight years ago to live with her daughter, Dolores.

Rose was a loving wife and mother who found her greatest joy in spending time with her beloved family. She loved cooking for her many family and friends. Her specialties included meat pies, chicken soup, Christmas cookies, and chocolate cake for birthday celebrations. She was the consummate keeper of her home and had a green thumb with plants, particularly African violets and Christmas cactus. She also loved to dance and play cards.

Rose was a longtime member of the Immaculate Conception Church, serving as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and the head Sacristan for over 15 years. She was also a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality at the church and enjoyed traveling to Rome and Switzerland.

She is survived by two daughters, Dolores Van Horn and her husband Richard of Santa Maria, Ca. and Alice J. Austin and her husband Charles of Newport, Vt.; one son, Richard G. Juneau and his wife Joan of Marlborough; one daughter-in-law, Margaret Juneau of Manchester, Conn.; four grandchildren, Jacqui, Brenda, Debra, and Amy; five great-grandchildren, David, Kristina, Ashley, Selena, and Justen; and one great-great-granddaughter, Bailey.? She was predeceased by one son, Raymond O. Juneau, and one sister, Louise Brigham.

Rose's family wishes to thank the staff of Dignity House Hospice in Santa Maria, Ca., especially Kim Passmore, for the outstanding care given to Rose and her family.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visiting hours at the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., Marlborough, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 13, from 5-7 p.m.
