Hudson – Mabel E. (MacEachern) Gracie, 85, of Hudson, died at her home Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her loving husband of 65 years, James Gracie of Hudson.

Mabel was born in Boston, daughter of the late Ivan and Olga (Gill) MacEachern. She was raised in Roslindale, where she attended local schools, and resided in Weymouth before settling in Hudson for the past 40 years.

Mabel took great pride in raising her children and caring for their home, along with her husband Jim. She cherished her family and enjoyed a unique and special relationship with each of her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mabel touched the lives of so many people and will be greatly missed.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her five daughters, Linda Bauer and her husband Charles of Hudson, Susan Tormey and her husband James of Abington, Debra Cheever and her husband Tom of Quincy, Marcia Hoey of Rindge, and Michelle Duga and her fiancé Thomas Erb, both of Newport, R.I., and her daughter-in-law, Cory Gracie of New Hampshire. She was predeceased by her son, James E. Gracie, in 1992. She is also survived by her siblings, Corinne Dickie of Roslindale, Margaret Lavargna of Revere, Virginia Costello of Roslindale, Fred MacEachern of West Roxbury, and Vernon MacEachern of Bellingham; her 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Velma Atkinson and Ivan, Jack, and George MacEachern.

Family and friends may attend calling hours Thursday, Sept. 4, from 4-8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson. A funeral service and celebration of Mabel's life will be held Friday, Sept. 5, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial services will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery of Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mabel may be made to VNA Care Network and Hospice, Development Office, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608-1280.
