Shrewsbury – For the second year in a row, Central One Federal Credit Union has made a $20,000 donation to the Shrewsbury High School (SHS) Athletic Department. Surrounded by members of SHS's athletic teams, David L”Ecuyer, the bank's president and CEO, presented the check Sept. 8 to Dr. Joseph Sawyer, the superintendent of the Shrewsbury Public Schools and Todd Bazydlo, SHS principal.

“Central One is a community-focused credit union, with that in mind we strive to help our communities in any way possible.? Whether it is through volunteering or helping programs meet budget, we aim to help improve our towns” year in and year out,” L”Ecuyer said.

“We'se part of this community and so we are happy to support [the SHS Athletic Department],” he added. “We back them 100 percent.”

Sawyer and Bazydlo both expressed their gratitude for the generous donation.

“We are extremely fortunate to have Central One as a community partner,” Sawyer said. “This donation will help afford more opportunities for more kids in our athletic programs.

“Those opportunities will help the student athletes engage in areas such as leadership, team work and collaborative skills which will help them grow as individuals,” Bazydlo added. “Central One has been a great partner.”
