Northborough – St. Rose of Lima Parish in Northborough continues to celebrate its 20th anniversary of the practice of faithful stewardship. The commitment to stewardship brought the parish together to tithe 10 percent of its weekly income to various situations, persons, agencies and those in need.

Stewardship has helped support dozens of parish organizations and events that serve the needs of others. For instance, more than 100 teenagers in the parish participated in a trip to a Young Neighbors in Action service experience, the National Catholic Youth Conference and the Steubenville East Conference within the past year. Since the practice of stewardship began 20 years ago, St. Rose of Lima has donated an immeasurable amount of hours in service and over $1,000,000 to worthy charities.

The Stewardship Anniversary Celebration continues Sunday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. with Mass celebrated by Bishop Robert McManus. Four $2,500 tithes will be given to Nativity School: Worcester, Fr. Rick Frechette's Haiti Mission, The Priest's Retirement Fund in Diocese of Worcester, and Urban Missionaries of Our Lady of Hope.

Events continue Sunday, Sept. 28, with the parish's “How fit is your faith?” 5k and Family Day, and Monday, Oct. 6, with the 13th annual Charity Golf Tournament at Wachusett Country Club with all proceeds going to Youth Ministry.
