Marlborough – Runners begin the fourth Friday 5K held midday Sept. 26, beginning and ending at the Yawkey Sports Training Center. Palmer Bigelow of Boylston finished first overall in 18:10. The first-place female was Julie Guay of Northborough finishing in 25:00. This race has been held each June and September since June 2013 to benefit Special Olympics Massachusetts, which provides healthy lifestyles through year-round sports for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
