Region – Clinton Savings Bank received two Gold Awards at the 2014 New England Financial Marketing Awards Gala Sept. 24. The bank was honored in two categories for banks under $500 million in assets.

First, they were honored in the Deposit Category for their innovative Valentine’s Day CD Special. The bank and its marketing agency, McDougall & Duval Advertising of Amesbury, developed a special 14-month CD offer – good for one day only on Valentine’s Day 2013. The bank extended the Valentine’s theme by giving a box of chocolates to every customer who visited the branches that day, and each branch drew a winner who received an employee hand-delivered bouquet of red roses.

They were also recognized as Community Champions for the Arts for the contest they ran for students at six area schools as part of their West Boylston branch relocation last year. Centered on Earth Day 2013, the contest asked students to reimagine CSB’s logo based on Earth Day imagery and themes. The winner received an individual prize of a $500 scholarship, as well as a $500 donation to their school’s art program. The winning artwork was also incorporated into the décor of the bank’s new branch.

“Serving our community for 163 years, both of the recognized campaigns are a small reflection of CSB’s commitment to combine innovative, educational and engaging services that support our customers and the community,” said Ellen McGovern, the bank’s senior vice president and director of marketing, who accepted the awards. “Our team is both proud and inspired to receive such peer recognition; however, the real reward was in the art students’ and customers’ heartfelt reactions to our efforts.”

This year marks the second year that the New England Financial Marketing Awards have been held.
