Webster Five donates $1,000 to Girls Inc. for summer camps

Region – The Webster Five Foundation announced its $1,000 donation to Girls Incorporated of Worcester, as part of its Web of Caring to Make a Difference program. The donation supported the 2014 Summer Camp Scholarship fund for inner-city girls from low-income families.

Webster Five’s Web of Caring to Make a Difference program reinforces the bank’s long-standing initiative to give back to the community by supporting local organizations that are making a difference. Girls Inc. serves girls and young women ages 5-18 through two direct facilities and eight direct service sites in schools, housing developments and program partnerships in greater Worcester, serving 1,400 members in 2013. Webster Five’s donation funded up to 10 one-week scholarships for the 2014 summer.

Richard T. Leahy, president and chief executive officer of Webster Five, stated, “We appreciate the goals of safety and education that the organization is providing to their members during the summer months, and all year round. Webster Five is proud to support Girls Inc. of Worcester.”
