Shrewsbury – Dominic J. Vignola, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Albany, New York, died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014. He was 94.
He led an interesting and active life as President of Devey, Thompson & Vignola Advertising Agency in Schenectady, New York, as well as having served on both the Board of Directors and as President of the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society for many years.
He lent his artistic talent to many of his favorite charities and fundraising endeavors by creating dog and cat greeting cards, portraits, and other mixed media for the events he organized.
An avid bridge player, he and his wife, Marie, successfully competed in tournaments both in Albany and on the Cape in West Yarmouth, where they lived for several years. He loved golf, played often and well.
A graduate of Siena College in Loudonville, New York, he was also a veteran of World War II and a member of the University Club and Normanside Country Club, where he held several positions.
Dominic is survived by his loving daughter, Hope Havens of Shrewsbury.
Private interment will be in Memory Gardens in Albany, New York.
