Shrewsbury – Warren Chester Jeannotte died at home Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 in the tender and loving care of his family. He was 86.
Born Dec. 21, 1927 in Worcester he was a son of the late Raymond C. and Gladys V. (Olson) Jeannotte. He attended Worcester Public Schools and like many men his age he joined the armed services and honorably served his country during World War II in the United States Navy and later the Korean Conflict. Warren then earned an Associate Degree in Process Engineering at Worcester Junior College and was a graduate of the School of Industrial Management Program at WPI. On Sept. 9, 1950 in the Martha Mary Chapel at the Wayside Inn, he married Adora L. Murphy. They lived most of their married lives in Northborough before moving to Shrewsbury in 2008.
Warren worked as head foreman of the Machine Shop at Wyman-Gordon Company in Worcester for over 35 years before retiring in 1987.
His interests included reading, New England and area high school sports teams, golf, word puzzles, fishing and boating, entertaining grandchildren, and fixing everything. He was a member of the Northborough Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Shriners International and Trinity Church in Northborough.
In addition to Adora, his wife of 64 years, he leaves his children, Adora Lynn Wojtkowski and her husband Richard of Westerly, R.I., W. Barry Jeannotte and his wife Janice of Westborough, Brian R. Jeannotte and his wife Clare of Chelmsford, Lisa A. Elliott and her husband John of Sturbridge, and Beth E. Hayden and her husband Warren of Shrewsbury; his grandchildren, Adam Wojtkowski and his wife Deborah, David Jeannotte, Emily Cakounes and her husband Christopher, Kristin O’Connell and her husband William, Karen Obarowski and her husband Steven, Patrick and Kathryn Elliott, and Warren, Aaron and Jacob Hayden; his great-grandchildren, Evan Nicholas Cakounes and Elizabeth Adora Cakounes; his sister, Marilyn Engblom of Upton; and many nieces & nephews. He was brother of the late Leslie R. Jeannotte.
His family offers words of thanks to the JHC Hospice for the wonderful care given to Warren and the family during his last days.
Family and friends will honor and remember Warren’s life by gathering for calling hours Thursday, Oct. 30, from 4-7 p.m., at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center, and again Friday, Oct. 31 at the First Congregational Church, 19 Church Rd., where his funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
