Northborough – Bill Graham, the expert floral designer and owner of Beautiful Things, Ltd., in Salem, believes beautiful floral arrangements can lift spirits. Members of the Northborough Garden Club couldn’t agree more. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Northborough’s Marguerite E. Peaslee Elementary School, 31 Maple St, the club will hold its annual “Holiday Enchantment” event beginning at 12 p.m. Graham will give a presentation on creating holiday floral arrangements.

The Garden Club, an active member of the Northborough community since 1925, holds the Holiday Enchantment event each year. Last year, it was attended by approximately 200 people. Francesca “Cessy” Bombara, co-president of the club with Amy Graham, is the event chair. In addition to a light lunch, treats, raffles and a door prize, Bombara said that guests can expect to enjoy an entertaining presentation from the talented floral arranger.

“We have people come back year after year, because they enjoy him so much – and everything else that goes along with it,” she said.

Along with its annual May plant sale, the festive holiday event is also a major fundraiser for the club.

“We give two scholarships each year of a thousand dollars each. And this fundraiser and the plant sale are both held for the benefit of those scholarships and for our town beautification, which we do,” Bombara said. “We take care of a lot of the planters in town and do all of that on our own.”

Tickets will be available at the door for $12; $10 in advance by calling 508-393-8464 or emailing [email protected].
