Westborough – The Westborough Civic Club recently awarded scholarships to five graduating Westborough High School students: Mia Natale, Franck Chang, Mark Schoen, Catherine Martin and Adelene Egan. This year, for the first time, the club also awarded a scholarship to one Westborough student attending Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School. This inaugural award was awarded to Carolina Ortiz, a major in the Business Technology program.

The Westborough Civic Club is a registered charitable organization established in 1975 for the sole purpose of benefiting the town of Westborough and its residents. Local organizations receiving donations have included Westborough Food Pantry, Fine Arts Education Association, Friends of the Library, Project Graduation, Appalachian Service Project, both Boy and Girl Scouts and many others.

Donations made throughout the year are funded solely by the Club’s sale of 1,400 Christmas trees, 500 wreaths and many coils of balsam roping between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve from their East Main Street lot in Westborough. The upcoming 39th consecutive fundraising season will commence with the delivery of over 1,400 trees and 500 wreaths Saturday, Nov. 29.
