Obit Sylvia MorseNorthborough – Sylvia Irene May (Henry) Morse passed away at home Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was 92.

Sylvia leaves her devoted husband of 62 years, Kenneth W. Morse; her children, Stephen Morse and his wife Sharon of Florida, Wayne Morse of West Boylston, Cynthia Chambless and her husband Ron of Oxford, and Keith Morse and his wife Laurie of Millbury; her grandchildren, William, Jennifer, Stephanie, Elizabeth, James, Patricia, Melissa, Kimberly, Alison, Lynnel, Brian, Daniel, who predeceased her, David, Jason, Christopher, and Sarah; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Henry of Uxbridge; and nieces and nephews. A younger sister, Viola Gagnon of Northbridge, predeceased her.

Born in Winchester, England, she was the daughter of Arthur L. and Edith (Gardiner) Henry. She was raised in Northbridge and graduated from Northbridge High School.

Sylvia was a longtime member of Trinity Church and was instrumental in the fundraising of the current Northborough Senior Center. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and crafts. Years ago, she volunteered her time at Proctor Elementary School. She lived for her family.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 6-8 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Sylvia’s funeral will take place Thursday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home. A private burial will be held in Howard Street Cemetery at a later date.
