Westborough – The American Heart Association honored Westborough resident Rich Adduci, for his dedication in helping further the American Heart Association’s mission of promoting healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Adduci was recognized Oct. 23 at the American Heart Association’s Heart of Our Mission reception at the State Room in Boston.

As a member of the Boston Board of Directors for the past seven years and current board president, Adduci, senior vice president and chief information officer at Boston Scientific, has passionately committed to raising the profile of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association in Greater Boston both personally and professionally.

Adduci has productively driven the Boston Board’s success in both its financial goals and mission related activities, encouraging individuals and companies across the region to become involved with the organization, while providing them with American Heart Association tools and programs that foster a culture of health.

Personally, Adduci plays an active role as a “You’re the Cure” advocate, speaking up and asking state legislators to support policies and priorities that help keep our communities safer and healthier. He played a large role in this year’s Boston Heart Walk, securing key leadership and assisting in the recruitment of over 20 new companies for the Heart Walk program.

“Rich is an incredibly passionate and dedicated volunteer,” explained Nicole Francoeur, senior director of the Boston Heart Walk at the American Heart Association. “He has a special place in his heart for the American Heart Association and continues to involve himself, both professionally and personally, to our cause.”

The annual Heart of Our Mission reception is an event to commemorate key volunteers who have demonstrated passion and commitment for moving forward the American Heart Association’s mission of building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
