    Hudson – The Color Guard of AMVETS Post 208 led the annual parade downtown Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day. Honored as grand marshal was the post’s Past Commander Bill Rivers.

    The parade also featured representatives from veterans’ organizations, state and town officials, scout troops and military vehicles. Patriotic music was provided by the Hudson High School Band.

    Afterward, a ceremony at Liberty Park was emceed by Past Commander Joe Jacobs of American Legion Post 100. The invocation was offered by Vietnam War veteran Vinny Giombetti. Speakers included state Sen. Jamie Eldridge, D-Acton; state Rep. Kate Hogan, D-Stow, Selectmen Chair Fred Lucy II and Veterans Agent Brian Stearns.

    The ceremony concluded with “God Bless America” sung by preschool students of First Steps Childhood Center, who wore sashes proclaiming, “Thank-you veterans!”
