Obit Arthur CormierMarlborough – Arthur G. “Gerry” Cormier, 85, of Marlborough, died suddenly Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 at his home.

Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Marie L (Gariepy) Cormier and the husband of the late Elverlina (Temple) Cormier, who died in 2010. He was a graduate of Worcester Trade School in 1948 and also attended DeForest Training Institute in Chicago.

Mr. Cormier served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He had been employed at Raytheon Corporation and as an electronics technician at Itek Corporation in both Lexington and Burlington, before retiring in 1994.

He was a member of the American Legion, enjoyed caring for his yard and garden, and had been an avid Red Sox fan since 1946.

He is survived by his sons, David Cormier and his wife Beth, Daniel Cormier, and Glen Cormier, all of Marlborough; his daughters, Donna Genatossio and her husband Frank of Shrewsbury and Julie Cormier of Marlborough; his sisters, Jeannette Murphy of Marlborough and Helene Turcotte of Chandler, Ariz.; and his grandchildren, D.J. and Marnie Cormier, Nancy Genatossio, and Tara Cormier.

A visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 14, from 4-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. His funeral Mass will take place Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough.
