Obit Gerald DionneMarlborough/Northborough– Gerald “Gerry” L. Dionne, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was 78.

Born in Connor, Maine, he was the son of Fred and Hazel (Corbin) Dionne. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He leaves his devoted wife of 58 years, Patricia (Dowd) Dionne; his children, Mark Dionne and his wife Lynne of Bellingham, Chris Dionne of Marlborough, and Todd Dionne of Spencer; five grandchildren, Jesse Dionne and his wife Emily, Danielle, Jennifer, David, and Paul; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Pearl, Joanne, and Charles.

Gerry was a machinist by trade, working at Data General in Southborough during the mid-1970s – 1980s. He also was employed at Feecon in Westborough in the early 1990s.

Gerry and Pat moved to Northborough in 1966 where they lived for 33 years and raised their family. The happiest days of his life were spent in the town of Northborough.

He was a well-respected coach and administrator of 30-plus years for Northborough Youth Baseball. He enjoyed fantasy football, camping, and playing pool and was a die-hard Red Sox Fan

Gerry will be remembered by his love of country western music, playing pool and a bottle of Lite Beer!

Calling hours will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, from 2-4 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. A celebration of life will follow in the funeral home at 4 p.m.
