Obit Artur FurtadoMarlborough – Artur A. Furtado, 30, of Marlborough, died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014 at his home.

He was born in Fortaleza, Brazil, the son of Pedro Henrique Furtado of Marlborough and Valeria (Menezes) Aguiar Furtado of Natick. He was a graduate of Universal Technical Institute in Norwood where he studied Deisel and Industrial Technology. He also attended college and studied Criminal Justice and Business Administration. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during Operation Enduring Freedom from 2004-2006 and received an honorable discharge.

He managed several restaurants in the MetroWest area and recently purchased the Piccadilly Pub in Worcester with his business partners. He enjoyed bowling, studying, amusement parks, and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

Besides his parents, he leaves two brothers, Abilio Furtado of Pembroke Pines, Fla. and Andre Furtado of West Haven, Conn.

A graveside service with military honors will be held Monday, Nov. 24, at 1:30 p.m., in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Conery Avenue, Bourne. Calling hours will be held Saturday, Nov. 22, from 7-10 p.m., in the Fitzgerald & Collins Funeral Home, 378 Lincoln St., Marlborough.
