Westborough – The downtown area around the town’s rotary will once again be lit up for the holiday season thanks to the Rotary Club of Westborough. The public is invited to the kickoff of the Festival of Lights on Sunday, Nov. 30, starting at approximately 5 p.m.

As they have done for many years, the Westborough Rotarians, as a service project, has provided funding for lights to be lit up in the trees in the down area. The event, which is always the Sunday after Thanksgiving, has also become a popular tradition for Westborough families.

A chorus from Westborough High School will lead the public in a festive “Holiday Sing” at the event starting at 5 p.m. Santa Claus will once again be arriving via a fire engine, courtesy of the Westborough Fire Department, at approximately 5:30 p.m. The lights will then be turned on, turning the downtown area into a festive holiday wonderland. Santa will then be available to meet with each child. Parents are invited to bring their cameras to take photos.

Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided at no cost for all those attend and candy canes will be given to the children.
