Obit Marie J. PecorelliShrewsbury – Marie J. (Romano) Pecorelli, 82, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 at home with her loving family around her.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Patsy Pecorelli, and her loving children, Patrick J. Pecorelli and his wife Theresa of Andover and East Dennis and Gina M. Brossi and her husband Louis of Shrewsbury and Marco Island, Fla. She was also the proud grandmother to Jason L. Brossi and Patrick L. Brossi, both of Shrewsbury, and leaves her brother, Carmen Romano of Millbury; her sister, Ann Marie Lombardi and her husband Joseph of Sturbridge; an aunt, Josephine DeSimone; and an uncle and aunt, Peter Mancini and his wife Virginia Mancini. She had a special niece that she was very close to, the late Sheryl Patterson of Franklin.

Marie was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Carmen and Nardina (Mancini) Romano, and lived in Worcester most of her life. She was a graduate of the David Hale Fanning Worcester Girls Trade School where she learned her seamstress skills. She moved to Shrewsbury eight years ago.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and had a zest for enjoying life. She loved to cook, bake, and prepare Sunday dinners for her family. She especially looked forward to Christmas Eve each year to prepare a special meal for her family. She loved being with her grandchildren, and enjoyed visiting her family at the Cape.

Marie attended The Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann and also several other churches. She had a special devotion to Padre Pio, whom she placed all her trust in and got her through her tough days. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Abrams and the staff at Dana Farber Cancer Institute for their exceptional care and compassion shown to Marie and her family during her illness.

Marie’s funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 29, from the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in the Church of St. Mary, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. A period of visitation with the family will be held 8:30-10:30 a.m. prior to leaving for church. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
