Northborough/Southborough – On Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m., Algonquin Regional High School will put on its annual Holiday Festival Concert. The show is a longstanding school tradition, set to include performances by the orchestra, mixed chorus, Camerata singers, concert choir and chamber choir.
This year, the event starts with a 30-minute open house. Free cookies and juice will be served, as the school’s a cappella group will perform. Students will also have artwork on display for guests to admire. At 7:30 p.m., the concert will begin in the auditorium.
Music Department Chair Amy Collins is in her 12th year as a member of the Algonquin staff, and she is very excited for this year’s production.
“It’s a great time for students, faculty, parents, alumni, and even local citizens with no association to the school,” Collins said. “Alumni presence is particularly important, because we conclude the show with inviting all alumni in attendance to come on stage and sing ‘White Christmas.’”
Other songs to be performed include holiday favorites like “Silent Night,” “The Nutcracker,” and many more. Admission is $5; $3 for students.
